Bar Charles at the Colony Club in Detroit adds a luxurious cocktail and meeting space to this historic hospitality venue. Renowned for its meticulous Louis XVI interiors, the Colony Club is a premier event space that combines first rate amenities, refined style, and unmatched service.

The bar’s name is a tribute to Forbes Hospitality founder, the late Charles Forbes. JLD, while collaborating with Patrick Thompson Design who designed the space’s exquisite interiors, proposed the name inspired by classic bars and lounges in New York and Paris. From there the brand process explored designs that connected the newly renovated space with the existing Forbes Hospitality brand. A mix of print and environmental collateral, as well as future concepts, were also explored.
